Before the final logo we explored a whole set of marks — each built from a vocabulary of Ukrainian symbols: the tryzub (trident, the national coat of arms), kalyna (viburnum) and the sunflower, wheat ears and sheaves, the stork and the crane, the Cossack with his oseledets forelock, the bandura, the village church, and vyshyvanka cross-stitch geometry. For different reasons these directions never made the final cut — but we wanted you to see them too.
